“Christmas is not about the presents it’s all about making memories with the ones you love”
Childhood memories
When I think of Christmas pieces then I think of when I was young and we used to make those Christmas pieces at school. I loved doing it then and definitely still do now. Some many fun memories. It gives me joy.

Nowadays I still make a piece or two for friends or family. It’s also a fun activity to do with friends, kids etc. You can make it as difficult as you like.

Neccessities
To create this Christmas piece you don’t need any experience. You can also make this as cheap or as expensive as you want. I chose to make a low budget version this time, that is possible to make for anyone.
This DIY is a rustic Christmas piece with candles. Depending on the size of your candle holder, you will need to following materials:
- A wicker candle holder
- Candles
- Christmas branches
- Small holly branches with and without berries
- Pruning shears
- Workgloves

How do you start?
Start by determining the length of the branches. Cut the branches with the pruning shears to its desired size. Remove the needles on the bottom so you can easily put the branches in the wicker candle holder.

Then cut the holly branches to its desired size.
Place all the branches next to each other and start by putting the Christmas branches on the outerside of the candle holder and the middle. Cover the entire candle holder.

Then decide where you want to place to holly branches. There is no right or wrong. This is a matter of taste and your own personal style. Make a beautiful arrangement to your own liking.

End by placing the candles and voilà, you made your own beautiful Christmas piece.
Tips
To make sure the greenery stays pretty longer I let it soak in a tub of water for a few hours. Then dry it well beofre usage.
Making a Christmas piece is a lot of fun. It is even more fun to gift it to another. This way you can spread the joy of Christmas as well.

You can also use the Christmas piece as an eye-catcher for your table setting for Christmas dinner or lunch.
